baby conversation with maddox

A little background: a friend of ours, who has a son Maddox's age, just gave birth to triplet girls.

Maddox: "Mommy, I want two babies."
Mommy: "You want two babies?!?"
Maddox: "Yes! I want two babies like Jake got."
Mommy: "Well, honey, I'm so sorry, but you're only getting one!"

Stephen and I always talk about how boring things would be without this little guy around! He has brought so much joy to the both us and we are so blessed to be his parents!
I thought I would add a list of a few of his favorite things at the age of 3:
1. "b"anilla ice cream
2. 101 Dalmatians
3. when his daddy gets home from work
4. playing ALL sports
5. watching himself cry in the mirror
6. sleeping late (i love this!)
7. his "puppy dog"
8. his real dogs Maddie & Lexie
9. going hunting with his daddy
10. riding his 4 wheeler
11. his mommy lying down with at bedtime (both nap & night) and scratching his back
12. Ceadermont Kids singing videos... he knows all the words and motions of each song
and many, many more! This child is ALL boy and so full of life!

Celebration continued...

To celebrate Maddox's 3rd birthday his Gram, BB, & Grin came over for lunch, cake, & present opening. The Ainsworth's joined us for cake as well and stayed to play with some of Maddox's new games!

He climbed on the counter to taste test some of the icing on his cake!

THE BIG 3!!!!!

Make a wish!

FLU!!!

Well... the FLU struck our house & Maddox had it the worst. It was a long SEVEN days! By day 5 we were stir crazy and I was willing to do anything to get him out of the house. Even if it meant letting him go outside in the rain dressed in his PJ's, raincoat, hat, & rain boots!!!! I was desperate!

A Visit from the Gregg's!

Our dear friends from Augusta, the Gregg's, were in Hattiesburg for "vacation" and made a day trip to Jackson for a visit. It was great to see them and catch up! We can't wait for 2011 when they are in Hattiesburg permanently!!!

Maddox & Addie Dayne... it's hard getting the attention of two two year old children at the same time!!

Maddox & McKay... he was obsessed with her!!! He wanted to hold her the whole time!

A Trip to the "Animal Zoo"

Stephen had been wanting to take Maddox to the zoo since the weather had been so nice. So... we ventured out on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We didn't tell Maddox where we were going but when he realized where we were he started screaming "animal zoo, animal zoo"! It was his first visit to the Jackson Zoo and he had a blast!

The Line at "Chicker-Lay"

One of Maddox's favorite places to eat lunch is "Chicker-Lay"! The other night we were in the den playing with some of his cars when he began to line them up in a perfect single file line, all heading the same direction . He then proceeds to shout, "Look, it's the line at Chicker-Lay!". Do you think we've been there a lot during lunch hour traffic?????

New Years Eve

We had a very laid back New Years Eve! Brady (Maddox's cousin) bought sparklers and fireworks for the kiddos.

Another Sweet Baby BOY!!!!

On December 30th Maddox, Stephen, & I went to the doctor to find out what Baby Greer2 is going to be! We are excited to say..... a BOY!!!!! It was a great New Year's gift!

These are just a few (& I mean a few.... she took 25) of the shots we got of him at the visit. Right when she put the ultrasound on my stomach, his hand popped up and he moved it back and forth like he was waving! The picture of his foot seems to show he might have a square foot like his daddy and brother.... oh the joys of finding shoes for those feet!!!! His profile looks A LOT like Maddox's did at this stage!

Christmas lunch at Gram's

Maddox showing off his new puppy dog robe from Katie!

Rett got a Ford truck from Santa so he and Maddox took a spin in the cul-de-sac.

Christmas morning

We had a great Christmas! This year Maddox really "got" the whole Christmas thing.... celebrating Jesus' birthday, Santa Claus, reindeer, etc. It was so much fun watching him get so excited about EVERYTHING!!! We went ahead and established our rule this year that Maddox could ask for 3 things from Santa Claus (because Jesus got 3 gifts from the wise men). When anyone asked him what he wanted he would say...."bike, camera, and presents". His BB & Grin gave him a bike so Santa gave him a 4-wheeler!

Christmas Eve at Gram's

Maddox & Rett were taking turns sitting in each others lap telling what they wanted for Christmas.
